At VLAA, we believe that arts experiences and our operations should be accessible to all.
To meet our responsibilities to people with disabilities and older adults and to ensure that everyone feels welcome, we strive to make our services, programs, communications and facilities fully accessible.
American Sign Language interpreters and other reasonable accommodations are available upon request. Our webinars use Zoom’s automated captions (also known as live transcription) feature.
Our volunteer attorneys provide legal guidance that helps our creative community identify, prevent and remove barriers to participation.
Executive Director Sue Greenberg is our ADA/504 Access Coordinator.
Our Spaces
Physical accessibility in our home at the High Low, 3301 Washington in Grand Center, includes:
- Ground-level/no step entry, ramped access, and/or elevators
- Integrated and dispersed wheelchair seating in assembly areas
- Wheelchair-accessible rest rooms and water fountains
- Signage for accessible restrooms
- A disabled parking space near the side/main entrance
- Service animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability), are welcome
Our other programs are hosted in similarly accessible venues.
